Getting a quote & pricing

How much does parking lot striping cost?

It depends on the size of the lot and how much marking is involved. Our restriping projects start at $400. Send a few photos or your lot's dimensions and we'll give you a straight quote — no obligation.

What do you need from me to give a quote?

For restriping, a few phone photos of the lot are usually enough. For new layouts, send your site plans or blueprints (PDF works), the project location, and your timeline. The more detail in the plans, the tighter the quote.

Is the quote free?

Yes. Quotes are free and there's no obligation.

Scheduling & timing

How long does striping take?

Many smaller restriping jobs can be completed in a few hours. Larger commercial lots take longer, but many commercial restriping projects can be completed in a single visit.

Can you work while our business is open?

In most cases, yes. We can often work in sections to keep portions of the property accessible, and we offer early morning, evening, and weekend scheduling.

What time of year do you stripe?

Striping depends on dry pavement, suitable temperatures, weather conditions, and paint requirements — in New England that typically means spring through fall. If you're planning a spring project, winter is a good time to reach out and get on the schedule.

How far out are you usually booked?

It varies by season — spring and early summer fill fastest. Reach out with your timeline and we'll tell you straight what we can do.

Restriping

How often should a parking lot be restriped?

Many lots need it every 1–2 years, depending on traffic volume, plowing, pavement condition, and overall wear. New England winters are hard on markings — plowing, salt, traffic, UV exposure, and freeze-thaw cycles all accelerate wear. Lots that see heavy traffic or aggressive winter plowing are usually on the shorter end of that range.

How do I know if my lot needs restriping or a whole new layout?

If the layout still works and the paint is just worn, you need a restripe — we repaint over your existing markings. If the lot was repaved, reconfigured, or the traffic flow doesn't work anymore, you likely need a new layout. Send photos and we'll tell you straight which one fits.

Do you offer recurring restriping on a schedule?

Yes. We can set up recurring restriping on a schedule — for an individual property or across a multi-site portfolio — planned at intervals based on each property's condition and traffic.

New layouts & blueprints

Do you work from blueprints?

Yes. For new construction or reconfigured lots, send your site plans and we'll lay out stalls, aisles, crosswalks, and markings to match.

What if I don't have formal blueprints?

For simple layouts, a sketch or marked-up aerial is often enough. For complex configurations, we may need an approved plan or additional planning before striping.

What happens if the plans don't match field conditions?

It happens — grades shift, curbing moves, as-builts differ from design. When we find a discrepancy, we stop and bring it to you or your site super before painting anything. We'll propose how to adjust the layout to fit what's actually there, get your approval, and document the change. We don't improvise permanent markings on a guess.

How soon after paving can you stripe?

Timing depends on the asphalt mix, weather conditions, and your paving contractor's recommendations. Jagged Edge can coordinate with the paver when needed so there's no gap and no guesswork.

We just had our lot sealcoated. How soon can you stripe?

Striping begins once the product has cured sufficiently for traffic paint, based on manufacturer and contractor recommendations. If you haven't scheduled the sealcoating yet, we can coordinate timing with your contractor so there's no gap.

Do you do the sealcoating too?

No — we coordinate with sealcoating contractors and handle the striping once the surface is ready.

Accessible parking

Do you paint accessible (handicap) parking spaces?

Yes — accessible stalls, access aisles, and related markings are a regular part of our work, striped to the layout you approve. Final compliance decisions should be confirmed against current state and federal requirements.

Materials

What kind of paint do you use?

We use quality traffic paint suited to New England conditions. If your project specs call for a particular product, we'll confirm compatibility before quoting.

Do you do thermoplastic?

No. Jagged Edge specializes in paint-based striping and does not perform thermoplastic work.
